Mission statement of quantitative reasoning course

This is my third semester teaching the University of Tennessee’s entry-level quantitative reasoning course. While the material I’ve taught has more or less been the same each semester, overtime my overarching philosophy for how I teach the course has evolved. That is, there are some broader things I want my students to take away from this course, even if they don’t remember a single formula.
